Works fine with iOS 8. Not sure what other people are doing. Worked on my iPhone 6 and iPad mini both running iOS 8. We have 2nd gen Apple TV. We have had a blast with this game. Even has a kid word list that my kids enjoying doing with us. Great family game night option. This is the must have party game! Works
We played this with some friends on New Years Eve and had a great time! The app crashed at one point during game play and wouldnt allow the current player to draw, change colors, etc so we had to force quit the app which made us lose the current game, but other wise it worked great and was a lot of fun! Looking forward to future improvements and maybe future games using this model!
Really looking forward to trying this but it wont fully connect to Apple TV. Audio only no video.
Works great and the family has a blast playing it. We are not really into board games so this is a nice way to hang out together and have fun. Just make sure to turn mirroring on for AirPlay on your iOS device. The option is kinda hidden so make sure to scroll down to it in the AirPlay menu.
We are a family of four, and really enjoy playing this game! Hope there are more word updates soon...if you play it enough you star to see the same words over and over.
Everything about the execution of the game is wonderful. Just had an incredible time playing with visiting family. We havent laughed that hard in years. And we had from ages 4 to 44 playing. What a great time!
This is the best dual screen airplay game i have ever played with a family and it is worth the money! Perfect for playing with family
This is a perfect game for kids and adults. It lights up the room and is a perfect party game!
I bought this yesterday and played last night with friends and their kids. We had a ton of fun! Extremely fun game, works perfectly, mirroring the drawing onto my tv through appletv. It mirrored easily and I didnt experience any bugs at all. Well worth the 6 bucks. We had a great time, I look forward to playing again!
We played this on our iPad and Apple tv and it was a lot of fun for parents and kids (ages 7-11).
Really fun family game!
The word list is too limited to play even an hour.
Fun game, can make any kind of library... However, after playing for a period of time, the connection between either an old or the new Apple TVs stop working, out of the blue. Is it the app? IPad Air 1? Apple TVs 3rd or 4th gen AirPlay? In any case, the gaming experience is trashed. Still looking for an iOS game that our family can enjoy together. Please repair.
A fun way to kill some time with a group of people. Needs a larger library of words, though, since repeats happen far too frequently. Also, we found the word "gauge" misspelled as "gage."
Best party game ever! And the best use of AirPlay Ive seen. Highly recommended!
My family really enjoys playing this for family fun night or when friends come over.
My friends and me have had so much fun playing this! Though I dont play it often, I really enjoy it when I do. Definitely worth the download
Only three stars! Great idea, poor execution. LOVED the free version, bought the paid app, then severely disappointed at what we got for our money (not much in our opinion). Subtract one star for not letting me be able to edit all the word lists. I have a 12 year old who doesn’t know how to draw several words. It would be nice to toggle words and edit EVERY list. The emoji list is plain stupid (12 people agreed with me!) The pop culture list might be more stupid (7 people agreed with me). Seriously, we haven’t found one person who could figure out how to draw “Internet celebrity” or “Vin Diesel.” The winter list might as well be called the “We want to call this the Christmas list, but we don’t want to offend anyone so we’ll call it winter, but we’ll throw a lot of Christmas stuff in there just to cover our butts." Second missing star is because you have to scroll to get through all the colors. You should not have to scroll to select colors, its very frustrating and time consuming (12 people agreed with me!) The “Pass" and "Got It" buttons should be more in the corners of the screen. We found ourselves limiting our writing area because of the poor placement of the buttons in the middle of the screen.
TLDR: Worth $6, minor issues, great for small parties. My friends and I played tried this game at a holiday party in lieu of a board game and got so many hours of screaming fun. The mirroring from the iPad Air 2 to Apple TV was near-seamless, the connection never dropped, and it was easily worth $6 (considering many board games eg Settlers of Catan can easily clear $30). This is an indie game, so Im happy to support it with my money Minor quibbles: -some abstract words are hard to draw ("entrepreneurial spirit"?), but anyone who has played the real pictionary knows that this is true of all these games. Maybe a way to flag words that might be too challenging? -agree with some other reviews: scrolling the full color palate is not 100% obvious. 2 rows would be nice? Not sure how it would look on iPad mini, but would be fine on iPad Air.
